Job News:
ALS Environmental is seeking a Sampling Technician for Severn Trent Water, responsible for final effluent and crude sampling at sewage treatment works using portable auto-sampling machinery. The role is crucial in meeting regulatory requirements set by the Environment Agency.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform final effluent and crude sampling at sewage treatment works
Set up, program, and calibrate auto-sampling machinery
Conduct sludge sampling at treatment works
Record and report field data in line with ALS quality procedures
Transport samples to the ALS Coventry laboratory
Comply with ALS and STW Health & Safety procedures
Drive safely while adhering to on-site requirements
Requirements:
Full clean UK driving licence
Ability to work unsupervised and travel within the UK
Physically fit and able to work outdoors
Good organisational and communication skills
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience in environmental monitoring is an advantage
Familiarity with Health & Safety and Quality Management System guidelines
