We have a fantastic full time career opportunity for a qualified Journeyman Manual Machinist in the desirable West Loop Chicago neighborhood, or in our state-of-the art facility near the University of Illinois Chicago campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experienced in machining large pump components such as cases, impellers, wear-rings, bearing housings, shafts, covers.
- Must be able to hold close tolerances (+/- 0.001”).
- Experience in plane and bore of horizontal pump casings is a plus.
- Must have experience in manual machining on a Lathe, VTL or HBM.
- Experience machining shafts and keyways.
- Sufficient mathematical skills are required to compute angle’s, radii, bolt circles and other dimensions.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
- Overhead crane experience
- A minimum of 3 years’ related work experience is required.
- Candidates experienced in the pump or, rotating equipment industry will be strongly considered.
Requirements:
- Equivalent status as a Journeyman Manual Machinist, plus
- 2-year industrial/technical degree
- Citizen of Canada
