Position: Motor Carrier Inspector I

Key Responsibilities:
- Weigh motor carriers at fixed scale facilities to ensure compliance with size and weight regulations.
- Conduct informal checks of drivers to ensure compliance with state laws.
- Perform formal inspections of drivers and vehicles upon receiving CVSA certification.
- Issue permits for registration, motor fuel, and oversize loads.
- Enforce state laws, issue citations, and testify in court as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of scale facilities and assist with special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Licensing & Certification: Valid Driver’s License. Must obtain CVSA Level II certification within one year of hire.
- Necessary Special Requirements: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, communicate effectively, and complete basic mathematical calculations.
