Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a creative, experienced Head of Pastry with a broad skillset in both sweet and savoury menu items. You must be excited to work on the creation of a seasonal menu that will innovate the classics in line with the essence and culture of The Barbary. You will be integral to the development of the brunch offering, as well as leading on the development of the brunch offering, as well as leading on the development of the iconic Barbarian breads and desserts.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Head Pastry Chef or an ambitious Pastry Sous Chef in a high volume, high quality restaurant environment.
- Skills across sweet pastry and savoury baking. Experience in menu development is essential.
- Experienced in leading junior pastry teams; both in production and in service with a commitment to exceptionally high standards.
- Energy, tenacity and enthusiasm. Self-aware, empathetic and able to work with commitment and integrity.
- Excellent communication and organisation skills – must be thorough & detail focussed.
- Experience of the pace, demands and constant adjustments of a new opening is highly desirable.
