Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and facilitate daily activities for patients on the ward.
- Collaborate with ward therapy and nursing teams to create individualised and group activity programs.
- Organise and facilitate offward activities as appropriate.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings, to support patient recovery through varied activities.
- Engage creatively with young people with mental health issues, assessing risks and developing engaging activities.
- Operates under the guidance of a registered Occupational Therapist (OT) and Ward Manager.
- Deliver therapeutic activities within the ward and the local community.
- Use initiative to motivate and engage patients in activities.
- Maintain a respectful, nonjudgmental, and creative approach to patient care.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with guidance from senior staff.
- Creativity in developing engaging activities for young people.
- Experience in mental health care is desirable but not essential.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Respectful and nonjudgmental attitude.
