Job Description

Requirements:

– Languages: Knowledge of English required

– Education : Degree in Business

– Experience : Experience in a commercial insurance setting

Physical Requirements :

– Ability to independently manage time and tasks

– Ability to effectively exchange information

Other Requirements :

– Experience in the administration of a general insurance program, including coordinating policy renewals, interpreting insurance policy clauses, and reviewing insurance requirements for contracts, leases, and agreements

– Experience providing professional insurance advice

– Possession of a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation and Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation

– Knowledge of general insurance programs, practices, and processes

– Knowledge of risk management practices

– Knowledge of insurance policy documents and insurance industry practices

– Sound analytical and research skills

– Stakeholder engagement skills and professionalism

Responsibilities

– Administer Government’s insurance policies encompassing a diverse suite of insurance lines

– Coordinate the annual renewal of general insurance policies

– Prepare and evaluate proposals submitted to meet Government’s insurance requirements

– Prepare analysis and recommendations on insurance policies and coverages

– Recommend and review insurance requirements for government contracts, leases, and licensing agreements and monitor compliance with these requirements

– Provide professional insurance and risk management advice, recommendations, and analysis to government departments and agencies, including policy interpretations

– Compile statistics, complete jurisdictional analysis, and monitor trends in the general insurance and risk management fields
